13TH FIRST CROP WINNER FOR CAPTAIN OF ALL

Klawervlei Stud’s increasingly successful young stallion CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al), a leading contender to be named Leading First Crop Sire in South Africa at the end of this season, was responsible for a 13th first crop winner when his two-year-old daughter STELLAR MOTION got off the mark at the Vaal on Thursday afternoon, when scoring in open company.

Trained by Candice Dawson, the Ralphs Racing owned Stellar Motion was always prominent and stayed on courageously to score a half-length win, under jockey Warren Kennedy, over 1200m on Thursday.

Third, to FRANKEL filly RISK TAKER, at her previous start, Stellar Motion was all the rage for Thursday’s race, and eventually jumped the 8-13 tote favourite.

She is a 13th winner to have emerged from Equus Champion Sprinter Captain Of All’s impressive first crop, with other winners from this crop including Listed Devon Air Stakes winner and G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper runner up WHAT YOU ARE, East Cape Fillies Nursery heroine CAPTAIN ANNE BONNY, and the likes of INDY GO, SHANGO, SELF ASSURED, SULLENBERGER, CARTEL CAPTAIN (a close up fifth in the G2 Durban Golden Horseshoe) and CAPTAIN MORGANE.

Captain Of All has already sired winners from mares sired by a range of different stallions, with the broodmare sires of his early winners including ROYAL AIR FORCE, INDIGO MAGIC, DOOWALEY, COUNTER ACTION and LECTURE.

His daughters RAINBOW UNICORN and WHAT YOU ARE both hold entries for the upcoming G1 Thekwini Stakes.

Captain Of All has nine lots on the 2019 National 2YO Sale, which takes place next month.
