Klawervlei Stud’s late champion sire Captain Al is officially rated the 31st best stallion of the year, thus far, by TRC Global Rankings.
This puts the multiple champion, rated on a par with the great stallion Tapit, above such outstanding stallions as Lope De Vega, Pivotal and his son Siyouni, Malibu Moon, Invincible Spirit and Into Mischief.

Captain Al, who is at the time of writing South Africa’s second Leading Sire by stakes for 2018-2019, is enjoying another memorable season thus far with his notable winners including the likes of Kasimir (G2 Cape Merchants), One World (G2 Concorde Cup) and recent Swallow Stakes winner All At Once.

His 90 plus stakes winners are headed by the outstanding racehorses and young Klawervlei stallions Captain Of All and William Longsword, as well as the champions All Is Secret, Always In Charge, Captain’s Lover, Carry On Alice, Cloth Of Cloud as well as Met winner Hill Fifty Four and the multiple G1 winners Captain America and Snowdance.

The former eight times champion sire of two-year-olds has an exceptional draft on tomorrow’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale, with Captain Al’s nine lots on offer including -

- a full-sister to G1 performer Like A Panther, from the family of Laisserfaire and Centaine

-a colt from the family of standout performers Taghrooda, Estimate and Ebadiyla

-a colt whose granddam ran second in the Irish Oaks
