FEATURE RACE SUCCESS FOR TWICE OVER DAUGHTER

Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) made the perfect start to the 2019-2020 South African racing season when his daughter STUDIO BLUES won the Wedgewood Handicap at Fairview on Friday.

Bred and owned by the Daytona Stud, the five-year-old Studio Blues justified her tote favouritism status with a courageous half-length win in Friday’s R110 000 feature for trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Greg Cheyne.
Studio Blues has now won five times, with the consistent mare having won or placed in each of her last 12 starts.

Her sire, former European champion Twice Over, enjoyed another big season in 2018-2019, with the four time G1 winner’s notable representatives including recent repeat G1 Vodacom Durban July winner DO IT AGAIN (the front runner to be named Horse Of The Year for the past season), G2 Glorious Goodwood Peninsula Handicap hero DOUBLEMINT, Jet Master Stakes winner RUN RED and promising two-year-olds DOUBLE ALLIANCE and INVIDIA.

Twice Over, whose multiple G1 winning relative YOSHIDA (Heart’s Cry) ran second in the G1 Whitney Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday, has two lots on offer at the upcoming Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.
