Classy filly VIADERA, whose dam is a half-sister to the dam of Klawervlei Stud’s in-form sire TWICE OVER (Observatory), claimed the first feature race win of her career when victorious in Wednesday’s Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cairn Rouge Stakes at Killarney.

Runner-up in the G3 Anglesey S. at The Curragh last July, Viadera had beaten LADY WANNABE (Camelot) by a half-length giving her almost two stone in weight in that venue’s Spring Fillies H. at a mile May 24 before running third in the Listed Eternal Stakes over just short of seven furlongs last time June 26. Always having to race wide behind the leaders, the homebred showed determination to knuckle down and nail her old rival in the shade of the post.

A three-year-old daughter of BATED BREATH (Dansili) and the Beat Hollow mare Sacred Shield, Viadera is trained by Ger Lyons and was ridden in Wednesday’s race by Colin Keane.

The filly holds entries in both the G2 Kilboy Estate Stakes and G1 Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes.

Her granddam QUANDARY (Blushing Groom) is also granddam of G1 winner PASSAGE OF TIME (Dansili) and TIMEPIECE (Zamindar).

Viadera’s close relative, and four time G1 winner, Twice Over, recently made headlines when his outstanding son DO IT AGAIN recorded a second consecutive win in the G1 Vodacom Durban July.
One of two G1 winners produced in Twice Over’s fine first crop, Do It Again has now won seven of only 13 outings, with his five graded wins including four at G1 level.

Twice Over has two lots on offer at the 2019 National 2YO Sale –a filly (Lot 43) from the same female line as international standouts ELUSIVE QUALITY (Gone West), ANEES (Unbridled) and DARK LOMOND (Lomond), and a colt (Lot 88) out of a four time winning granddaughter of Golden Slipper winner GOLDEN SILVINO (Silvino).
