KLAWERVLEI FARM SALE GRADUATES FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS!

The Klawervlei Farm Sale, well established as one of South Africa’s best value for money and most popular thoroughbred auctions, has produced its fair share of high-class gallopers over the years.

The sale’s honour roll includes Equus Champions CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) (South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire of 2018-2019) and EDICT OF NANTES (Count du Bois) (now racing overseas as Northern Superstar), as well as such highly talented stakes winners as BARRACK STREET (Dynasty), SOCIAL ORDER (Count Dubois) and DOOR OF DECEPTION (Count Dubois).

The 2018 Farm Sale has been shown in great light in recent days, with a number of that year’s sale graduates making a big first impression.

Promising filly BALLET SHOES (Twice Over), a R50 000 buy from that sale, caught the eye when winning first time out for owners Ralphs Racing

and trainer Candice Dawson. A classically bred filly, Ballet Shoes looks a sort with plenty of scope to make further improvement in coming months

GOLDEN BELLE (Pomodoro) was another graduate of the 2018 Klawervlei Farm Sale to win on debut, when that promising filly scored first time out over 1200m on Heritage Day recently.
An R80 000 purchase, Golden Belle, bred to enjoy more ground than the 1200m of her debut win, races, like her extremely promising sire Pomodoro, for trainer Sean Tarry and owner Chris Van Niekerk.

The latest debut winner to have emerged from the 2018 Farm Sale was the regally bred CALIFORNIA COOL (Trippi), with that filly storming home first time out to win over 1000m for trainer Mike de Kock and owners Ralphs Racing. There was lots to like about California Cool’s off the pace win, which saw the filly (a R650 000 buy) romp home to score by 1.75 lengths and she looks a very exciting prospect indeed.

Other recent 2018 farm sale graduates to have saluted in the new season include the Tony Nassif trained TWICE AS SPECIAL (Twice Over), who saluted over 1800m recently for owners Messrs Whittle, J Nassif, G, K, & M M Nassif, LADY SECRET (Philanthropist) who won at Hollywoodbets Greyville for trainer Dennis Bosch and owners Messrs M W Vengetasami, D Moodaly & A P K Smith, as well as the Paul Barrett owned ROCK TO THE MUSIC (Seventh Rock). The latter, a R5 000 buy, took his earnings to more than ten times his purchase price when victorious for trainer Sarel Smit over 1000 metres this season.

One can but wonder what the graduates of the 2018 Klawervlei Farm Sale will yet achieve!
