Klawervlei Stud’s triple G1 winning sire CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) had a quick double, when the former Equus Champion had winners on both Thursday and Friday.
The star sprinter was represented by his eighth first crop winner on Thursday when two-year-old colt SULLENBERGER scored a one length win over 1000m at the Vaal.
In shedding his maiden, the Ashley Fortune trained Sullenberger scored a convincing win in open company –and provided his sire with yet more first crop success.

Bred by David Allan, and owned by Mr Harry Govender, Sullenberger was a R300 000 buy from the 2018 CTS Ready To Run Sale.

He joins the likes of WHAT YOU ARE (Devon Air Stakes) and CAPTAIN ANNE BONNY (East Cape Fillies Nursery) as well as the likes of INDY GO, CARTEL CAPTAIN, SELF ASSURED and RAINBOW UNICORN as winners to have emerged from Captain Of All’s impressive first crop.

The Tara Laing trained Captain Anne Bonny provided Captain Of All with a memorable double when the Klawervlei Stud bred filly justified favouritism to land a juvenile plate for fillies over 1200m at Fairview on Friday in convincing fashion. Out of a mare by ROYAL AIR FORCE, Captain Anne Bonny has now won or placed in six of her seven starts for owner Gavin Venter.

Currently one of South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sires, former Equus Champion Sprinter Captain Of All will be represented by What You Are (his Rainbow Unicorn is a reserve runner in the race) in Saturday’s G2 Zulu Kingdom Explorer Golden Slipper, while the sire’s CAPTAIN MORGANE and CARTEL CAPTAIN are runners in the G2 Durban Golden Horseshoe on the same card.
