Klawervlei Stud’s well performed young stallion ROYAL MO (Uncle Mo) had an excellent day on Sunday.
Not only did a mare in foal to Royal Mo top Sunday’s Klawervlei Farm Sale Mares, Weanlings & Foals Sale, but Royal Mo’s outstanding sire Uncle Mo made considerable waves in North America on Sunday.

The regally bred SEEKING VENUS, in foal to Royal Mo, was knocked down to Lynton Ryan for R300 000 to top Sunday’s Mare Sale, which took place at Klawervlei itself.
A winning daughter of champion sire Trippi, Seeking Venus is out of a winning Storm Cat own sister to multiple Japanese stakes winner and sire SEEKING THE DIA.

Royal Mo, whose wins included a victory in the G3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes, is by a red hot stallion in the form of US champion UNCLE MO.
The latter enjoyed a big race double on Sunday courtesy of his progressive 3yo son KING FOR A DAY and his four-year-old daughter MISS MO MENTUM.

The former pulled off a notable achievement when downing star 3yo MAXIMUM SECURITY (first past the post in this year’s G1 Kentucky Derby) in Sunday’s Pegasus Stakes, while Miss Mo Mentum won the G3 Trillium Stakes at Woodbine on the same day.

The promising King For A Day has now won three of five starts, while his paternal half-sister Miss Mo Mentum is a winner of five races with her past scores including the G3 Selene Stakes.

Recently represented by his 50th individual stakes winner, Uncle Mo is a past Champion Sire of 2Yos and Leading First Crop Sire , with the champion’s previous notable performers include US champion and G1 Kentucky Derby winner NYQUIST.
