Klawervlei Stud’s triple G1 winning stallion CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) has made a fine start to his stud career, and the former Equus Champion came up with another eye-catching winner at Turffontein on Thursday afternoon.
His daughter CAPITIANA, now in the care of Lucky Houdalakis, demonstrated her well being in no uncertain terms when she romped home to a smart win on Thursday. Under Joshwin Solomons, the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud bred filly pulled well clear of her chasing rivals to score a two-length win, over 1200m, for owner Tommy Shawe.
Capitiana hails from the first crop of Captain Of All, South Africa’s Champion Sprinter of 2014-2015, with this crop having produced four stakes horses thus far, including G2 TAB/Betting World Dingaans winner SHANGO, high-class sprinter CARTEL CAPTAIN and the stakes-winning fillies CAPTAIN ANNE BONNY and WHAT YOU ARE.
Also, sire of this season’s G1 Cape Racing Presents The Cape Guineas runner up LINEBACKER, Captain Of All has eight lots on offer at the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale including a filly (Lot 29) out of a stakes-placed daughter of VAR (Forest Wildcat), a colt (Lot 67) from the same family as Klawervlei’s promising young sire WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al), a full-sister (Lot 113) to Devon Air Stakes winner WHAT YOU ARE, and a filly (Lot 173) out of a four-time winning half-sister to champion JUST SENSUAL (Dynasty). Captain Of All also has four yearlings on this year’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale, including a colt (Lot 18) bred on the same cross as Shango, and a colt (Lot 44) closely related to the Captain Al sired Met winning sire ONE WORLD.
