Klawervlei Stud’s inform sire, and former European champion, TWICE OVER (Observatory) had another good weekend this past week, when the four time G1 winner supplied a trio of winners.

Twice Over’s two-year-olds have been making a big impression this season, and the dual G1 Emirates Airline Champion Stakes winner came up with another smart two-year-old winner when his daughter TWICE THE TRIP romped home to shed her maiden in open company at Turffontein on Saturday.

Trained by Sean Tarry, the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud bred filly showed her class when drawing clear, under Lyle Hewitson, to score by four and a quarter lengths over 1160m.

Owned by Chris Van Niekerk, Twice The Trip had finished second at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time out and she looks to have the scope to build on this win.

She joins the likes of SMORGASBORD and TEAM GOLD as other promising two-year-olds for Twice Over this season.

Twice Over was also responsible for a pair of winners at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday afternoon.

His Garth Puller trained son MORSE picked up his second victory when fighting back gamely, under a superb ride from Lyle Hewitson, to win Sunday’s fifth race in courageous fashion.

Owned by the Yataghan Racing Syndicate (Pty) Ltd, the Highlands Farm Stud bred four-year-old has now won or placed in 15 of his starts.

Twice Over’s second success on Sunday came in the very next race when his gelded son TWO OF US ran out a ready, near length winner of the sixth race. Under Ryan Munger, the Wayne Badenhorst/Barbara Kennedy trained gelding kept finding more in the closing stages to win with a bit in hand.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Two Of Us was winning for a third time, with the gelding having now won two of his last three starts.

Twice Over, whose dual G1 Vodacom Durban July winning son DO IT AGAIN made a smashing, winning return to the track recently, has 12 lots on the CTS Farm Yearling Sale, and eight lots on the KZN Yearling Sale.
