Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning stallion TWICE OVER (Observatory) has some very exciting two-year-olds to his name this season, and the former European champion came up with an eye catching juvenile stakes winner on Saturday.

His Sean Tarry trained daughter TWICE THE TRIP showed her mettle when she stormed home to win the Listed The Lighthouse Foundation Devon Air Stakes (1400m) at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.

Under inform jockey Lyle Hewitson, the two-year-old Twice Over daughter powered home down the outside of the course before staying on to score by a neck.

A facile maiden winner at her previous start, the Chris Van Niekerk owned Twice The Trip looks another exciting two-year-old prospect for her sire Twice Over.

Bred by the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud, Twice The Trip, a R100 000 buy from the 2020 Cape Premier Yearling Sale, joins the likes of G2 4Racing SA Nursery runner up SMORGASBORD and the smart-looking TEAM GOLD as promising two-year-olds representing Twice Over this season.

Twice Over has some very well-bred yearlings on offer at the upcoming CTS Farm Yearling Sale. His draft includes a colt (Lot 27) out of a G2 winning daughter of CAPTAIN AL (Al Mufti), a half-brother (Lot 32) to G3 Godolphin Barb runner up IRFAANS BOY (Var), a colt (Lot 54) out of G3 Acacia Handicap winner OFF THE MARK (Jet Master), and a filly (Lot 76) bred on the same cross as the Twice Over sired dual Vodacom Durban July winner DO IT AGAIN.
