Klawervlei Stud’s triple G1 winning stallion CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) continues to fire on all cylinders, and the former Equus Champion came up with another double at the Vaal on Thursday afternoon.

His three-year-old daughter PUFF OF SMOKE got off the mark when running out a facile winner of Thursday’s first race. Under Givemore Mutamba, the Ashley Fortune trained filly pulled well clear in the closing stages to break her maiden by three and a half lengths while scoring over 1000 metres. Bred by Mr Reid, Puff Of Smoke races for Mesdames M Soal & C Soal & Mr K Soal.

Captain Of All made it a quickfire double when his son FRONTLINE FIGHTER justified favouritism to win the second race on the card.

Trained by Paul Peter, the three-year-old romped home, under Muzi Yeni, to get off the mark by an emphatic four and a quarter lengths. Bred and owned by the Nassif family, Frontline Fighter had been placed in his two previous starts.

His sire Captain Of All, also responsible for last season’s star three-year-old LINEBACKER, had also enjoyed success at Hollywoodbets Greyville the day before when his son RAINBOW SPIRIT had captured the first race for Ashton Arries, Yogas Govender, and owners Messrs Y Naidoo, C C Britz, J T Eady, B T Gaillard & K S Storkey.

The champion son of Captain Al has seven lots on offer at the upcoming CTS Ready To Run Sale.
