Fresh off supplying an impressive debut winner at Kenilworth on Saturday, Klawervlei Stud’s very much inform stallion WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al) was at it again on Monday, when the former Cape Guineas winner came up with two winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
William Longsword’s recent Listed Model Man Mile winning son HASTA MANANA made it three wins from his last four starts when he ran out a game winner of the fifth race at Greyville on Monday. Under a strong ride from Anton Marcus, the Gareth Van Zyl trained gelding dug down deep to land the spoils in Monday’s Conditional Graduation by a head.
Bred by the Rathmor Stud, Hasta Manana has been the soul of consistency in his career, with the Mario Ferreira owned three-year-old finishing unplaced just once in his first nine starts.
William Longsword’s second success on Monday came when his Tony Rivalland trained son COIN SPINNER won the ninth and final race on the Greyville card. Under Keagan De Melo, three-year-old Coin Spinner went out to make the running, and he kept finding more in front to win by nearly half a length.
The gelding was bred by Blue Sky Thoroughbreds. Owned by Messrs Sadha Naidoo,R Maingard & Mrs M D J Liley, Coin Spinner has now won his last two in a row, with the gelding victorious in two of his four starts to date.
