Klawervlei Stud’s inform, July winning sire POMODORO (Jet Master) looks to have come up with a potentially very smart two-year-old in the form of RETURN TO RUSSIA. The latter made a hugely impressive debut on Sunday, when winning as he liked at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. Under Serino Moodley, Return To Russia hit the front 200m from home before powering away to win emphatically by nearly a length and a half on Sunday. The Michael Miller trained colt races for Messrs Nairac, Baker, Jean Hardy and Sterling Miller.

Return To Russia, a colt bred by Normandy Stud, is the second two-year-old winner for Pomodoro this season, with the son of Jet Master also responsible for the promising Michael Miller trained two-year-old WOODLAND RETREAT

South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2017-2018, Pomodoro (whose yearlings made up to R700 000 at the recent Cape Premier Yearling Sale), has four lots on offer at the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale.
