Klawervlei Stud’s G1 Cape Guineas winning sire WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al) continues to impress as a young stallion of considerable promise, and the Klawervlei homebred came up with yet another potentially exciting prospect when his daughter DOUBLE DREAM made a highly impressive, winning debut at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday afternoon.

Trained, like both William Longsword and Captain Al, by Vaughan Marshall, three-year-old Double Dream caught the eye when overcoming a poor draw to win at the first time of asking on Saturday.

Given a fine ride by Sean Veale, Double Dream stormed home down the inside of the track and kept finding more to score by a head at the first time of asking while accounting for another promising first-timer HOLD MY HAND (Gold Standard). Bred by Klawervlei Stud, the classy looking Double Dream races for Mr Van Der Merwe.

Double Dream hails from the impressive first crop of William Longsword. This crop has also produced G2 Epol Umkhomazi Stakes winner DYCE, Secretariat Stakes queen BON VIVANT, Model Man Mile hero HASTA MANANA and the likes of  COIN SPINNER, REMEMBER WHEN and SAFE RETURN.

One of the very best sons of multiple champion sire CAPTAIN AL (Al Mufti), William Longsword has nine lots on offer at the upcoming CTS Farm Yearling Sale, including a half-sister (Lot 103) to Friday’s impressive Listed WSB Dahlia Plate winner EKORIA (Futura).
