Klawervlei stallions enjoyed some strong results at the recent August Two Year Old Sale, which took place last Friday and Saturday in Germiston.
The farm’s resident champion sprinter CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) had two-year-olds make up to R300 000, with Paul Peter purchasing the Ndoro Stud consigned Captain Of All filly (Lot 13) out of Magnificent Maggie for R300 000.
Klawervlei’s consistently successful POMODORO (Jet Master) has enjoyed a good start to the new South African racing season, and the sire of dual G1 winning champion RETURN FLIGHT also had notable success at this year’s August Two Year Old Sale.
Legendary golfer Gary Player went to R420 000 to acquire the Pomodoro colt (Lot 128) out of SWEET MARY LOU (Await The Dawn), with this handsome colt being consigned to the sale by Millstream Farm.
Uncle Mo’s high-class son ROYAL MO has made a fine start, despite limited opportunities, to his stud career with his classy son ROYAL AUSSIE currently heading the log for the 2022 CTS Ready To Run Stakes. Royal Mo’s two-year-olds also found favour with buyers at the recent August Sale, with Fanie Bronkhurst going to R320 000 to buy the Stone Hill Stud consigned Royal Mo colt MO START (Lot 275) at the August Sale.
European champion TWICE OVER had a fantastic season in 2021-2022, where his flagbearers included G1 Cape Guineas winner DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE, and two-year-olds by that four time G1 winner made up to R340 000 at the 2022 August Two Year Old Sale. Twice Over’s top lot sold at the August Sale was the Drakenstein Stud consigned filly DRAGON DRAGON (Lot 225) who was knocked down to Al Khayl Breeders for R340 000.
