Klawervlei Stud’s successful sire, and former European champion, TWICE OVER (Observatory) looks to have a very smart son to his name in the form of CHAMPION WARRIOR.

The latter made it two wins from two starts when romping home to a clear-cut win at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday, and Champion Warrior looks destined for bigger and better things. Under Louix Mxothwa, the Brett Crawford trained three-year-old had impressed when winning on debut back in September and the colt built on that win with a fine performance on Wednesday.

Champion Warrior, who had impressed in the parade ring and canter past, simply blew his rivals away when running out a fluent, two length winner of Wednesday’s Racecape Powered by Hollywoodbets MR 78 Handicap (1250m). A colt looking for more ground, and a likely contender for the Gold Rush, the Klawervlei Stud bred Champion Warrior is owned by Mr Gujadhur.

His four-time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER, also responsible for this season’s Listed Topbet Spring Spree Stakes hero TEAM GOLD, had an outstanding season in 2021-2022 where his flagbearers included G1 Cape Guineas winner DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE as well as the likes of DO IT AGAIN and SMORGASBORD.
