The Klawervlei Stud based champion CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) had another good weekend when he came up with two more winners in two different provinces.

The former sprint champion’s first success came when his daughter EUROPEAN SUMMER ran out a courageous winner of the eighth and final race at Fairview on Friday. Under a well judged ride from Rachel Venniker, the Emmanuel Kaknis trained filly flew up down the inside of the track to get up and win by just over half a length. Bred by Klawervlei Stud, European Summer, who was winning for a second time on Friday, races for Five Star Racing & Stud CC.

Captain Of All also enjoyed success at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday where his son CAPTAIN SPIRIT stayed on powerfully to break his maiden, when he won Sunday’s Welcome To The PinkDrive Charity Racemeeting Maiden Plate over 1400 metres. Trained by Michael Miller, the gelded three-year-old kept finding more in Sunday’s race to score by a neck. Bred by Jannie Meyer, the lightly raced Captain Spirit is owned by Tony Jelinski, Messrs W S Geyser, B Kritzinger & Cara Steward.

Captain Of All, whose progeny also include dual G1 winner LINEBACKER and multiple graded stakes winner SHANGO, is also sire of the exciting filly KISS ME CAPTAIN, an impressive winner of her first three starts thus far.

South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2018-2019, Captain Of All has five lots on offer at the upcoming Cape Racing Ready To Run & 2YO Unbroken Sale, and a further 11 lots on sale at the 2022 November Two Year Old Sale.
