Klawervlei Stud’s very much inform sire POMODORO (Jet Master) looks to have a very smart three-year-old to his name in the form of RULE BY FORCE.

The latter made it two wins from just four starts when running out an eye catching winner at Turffontein on Tuesday and Rule By Force looks a colt to follow this season.

Trained by Joe Soma, Rule By Force had caught the eye when winning on debut, beating the smart FOSTINOVO (Flower Alley) into second spot, back in September, before putting up creditable efforts to finish second in his two subsequent starts. Unlucky last time out, the three-year-old duly went one better on Tuesday when Rule By Force stormed home to a clear-cut win in the Racehorse Owners Association MR 76 Handicap over 1400 metres.

Under a confident Gavin Lerena, Rule By Force ran on strongly from the back of the field to win going away by a length and a quarter, with another son of Pomodoro, WITHOUT EQUAL staying to take third spot.

Bred by the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud, Rule By Force races for Messrs D Chinsammy, E Naicker and MGAS Bloodstock.

The colt is one of several promising three-year-olds for Pomodoro this season, with others including smart fillies EPSOM GIRL and WOODLAND RETREAT, and eye catching debut winner RETURN TO RUSSIA.
