Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) is enjoying another fine season this year, and the former European champion struck yet again when Twice Over supplied a pair of winners at Turffontein on Wednesday night.

Twice Over’s first success on Wednesday came when his three-year-old son BREEZE OVER broke his maiden when victorious in the third race at Turffontein. Under JP Van Der Merwe, the Michael and Adam Azzie trained gelding defied a wide draw to score emphatically by two lengths. Bred by Drakenstein Stud, Breeze Over, who had finished second last time out, races for Messrs Leahy and Higgs.

Twice Over is also the sire of KING OF ROME, who caught the eye when powering home to win the sixth race on Wednesday, the Middle Stakes, in fine style. The Lucky Houdalakis trained three-year-old, rated good enough to contest the G3 Sea Cottage Stakes earlier in the season, stayed on strongly to claim the second race of his eight race career by nearly a length. Bred by Terry Andrews, King Of Rome races for Tommy Shawe.

His four time G1 winner sire TWICE OVER, whose flagbearers this season also include G3 Lebelo Sprint winner TAIKONAUT and Model Man Mile hero SEE IT AGAIN, has two lots on offer at this weekend’s Cape Yearling Sale.
