Klawervlei Stud’s well related resident sire ROYAL MO (Uncle Mo) came up with a smart looking winner at Turffontein on Saturday.

His gelded three-year-old son BOB’S YOUR UNCLE caught the eye when he shed his maiden, at just the second time of asking, on Saturday.

Trained by Lucky Houdalakis, Bob’s Your Uncle had finished seventh over 1200m at his only other appearance, but improved on that with a game win at Turffontein.

Under Chase Maujean, the son of Royal Mo fought on doggedly to claim the second race on the card by a short-head.

Bred by Patricia Devine Investments (Pty) Ltd, Bob’s Your Uncle races for Messrs E Miliotis, A J McNabb, Lucky Houdalakis, C F Strydom & Stone Hill Stud (Nom: Mr H C W Rix).

He is one of a growing number of winners to have emerged from Royal Mo’s small first crop, with this crop having also produced R5 million plus earner ROYAL AUSSIE.

Winner of the G3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes, Royal Mo is a son of Uncle Mo, who made headlines in North America this weekend.

Not only did Uncle Mo’s unbeaten son KINGSBARNS win Saturday’s G2 Twinspires Louisiana Derby, Uncle Mo is also broodmare sire of Saturday’s G2 Fair Grounds Oaks presented by Fasig-Tipton winner SOUTHLAWN (Pioneerof The Nile).

The inform Uncle Mo is also sire of recent G1 Beholder Mile winner A MO REAY as well as 2023 G3 Southwest Stakes winner ARABIAN KNIGHT.
