Klawervlei Stud’s multiple G1 winning sire CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) is having another good season this year, and the former Equus Champion was at it again when Captain Of All came up with two good winners at the Vaal on Thursday.

Thursday was a good day for Captain Of All -not only did the stallion’s sons JERUSALEMA RAIN and KNIGHTS TABLE win the second and fourth races respectively, his daughter POURSOMESUGARONME finished second in the first race at the Vaal.

Two-year-old JERUSALEMA RAIN had made a fine debut when second on his only previous outing and the gelding duly built on that fine first-up effort. The Ashley Fortune trained gelding powered home to hold off a fast finishing HAWKBILL and win Thursday’s Play Soccer 6,10 and 13 Maiden Juvenile Plate (1200m) by a neck.

Bred by Keivan Stud, and racing for Gavin Zurnamer, Jerusalema Rain had been showing exceptional work at home, and he looks a promising sort in the making.

Captain Of All’s second success on Thursday came when the Lucky Houdalakis trained KNIGHTS TABLE broke his maiden when landing the fourth race. Making just the third start of his career, three-year-old Knights Table romped home to score by three and a quarter lengths, while trying 1600m for a first time.

Bred by David Shawe (who owns him in partnership with Tommy Shawe), Knights Table looks sure to build on this win.

Also sire of this season’s Listed Swallow Stakes winner KISS ME CAPTAIN, Captain Of All has five lots on offer at the upcoming National Yearling Sale including a full-sister (Lot 55) to multiple graded stakes winner SHANGO.
