Fresh off enjoying feature race success at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday, Klawervlei Stud’s bang inform stallion WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al) was at it again when coming up with a good-looking winner at Turffontein on Tuesday.

His three-year-old son BRAVE VIKING made it back-to-back wins when powering home, under S’Manga Khumalo, to win the third race at Turffontein in fine style. Making his first start since winning his maiden, the Joe Soma trained gelding flew up late to land Tuesday’s TAB Telebet 0861 000 822 Graduation Plate (1500m) by over a length and a quarter, and he looks like a potentially smart sort in the making. The well bred Brave Viking has now won or been placed in four of just six starts.

Held in high-regard by his trainer who described him as a “very, very good horse”, the Cheveley Stud bred Brave Viking races for Messrs R G Coppin & F Vahab, Ms J Motaung & MGAS Bloodstock (Nom: Mr G A Soma).

His sire went close to having a double at Turffontein on Tuesday, with his Joe Soma trained son BACK IN BUSINESS finishing a creditable third to the very classy DAVE THE KING (Global View) in the second race on the card.  The Klawervlei Stud bred Back In Business had won his first two starts impressively and he looks another smart performer for the inform William Longsword.

Also sire of recent feature race winners LORD WILLIAM and VIRGINIA SWEET, William Longsword has four lots on offer at this week’s National Yearling Sale.
