Klawervlei Stud’s resident sire CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) looks to have some exciting two-year-olds this season, but the former champion sprinter’s latest success came through the deeds of his five-year-old son CAPTAIN DIZZY.
The latter made it back-to-back wins, and picked up his fourth career win overall, when running out a convincing winner of the seventh race at the Vaal on Tuesday.
Trained by Barend Botes and Yolandi Vosloo, Captain Dizzy was given a well timed ride from Chase Maujean, who brought his mount home with a sweeping late run which saw Captain Dizzy stayed on nicely to win by a length and a half.
Bred by Klawervlei, Captain Dizzy has been a real money-spinner for his owners Messrs Andre van Schaik, M D Ragavan, Q Thaver & Mrs K Ramsewak. To date, Captain Dizzy has won or been placed in 15 of his 24 starts and he won’t stop here!
His sire Captain Of All, who went close to having a double at the Vaal on Tuesday, also went close to enjoy notable graded stakes success recently. Not only did the stallion’s exciting son JERUSALEMA RAIN finish a smart second in the recent G2 World Sports Betting SA Nursery, his Listed Swallow Stakes winning daughter KISS ME CAPTAIN finished a close up second in the same day’s G2 World Sports Betting Camellia Stakes, while yet another daughter of the sire, CAPTAIN’S CHRISTY, ran third, behind the brilliant WINTER CLOUD (What A Winter), in the recent G3 Strelitzia Stakes.
South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2018-2019, Captain Of All has ten lots on offer at the upcoming Cape Racing Winter Mixed Sale.
