Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) was the toast of Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday when his star son SEE IT AGAIN ran out a convincing winner of the G1 Daily News 2000, defeating a top-class field in the process.

In capturing Saturday’s R1 500 000 contest for three-year-olds, See It Again stamped himself as the horse to beat in this year’s G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July, a race won twice previously by his three-parts brother DO IT AGAIN.

Winner of both the G1 Splashout Cape Derby and Listed Model Man Mile earlier in the season, the Michael Roberts trained colt had caught the eye when finishing a close and unlucky second in the G2 World Sports Betting Guineas last time out and was well fancied to go one better in Saturday’s big race.

Under a perfect ride from Piere Strydom, See It Again pounced late in running, going on to down the front running DAVE THE KING (Global View) by nearly three-parts of a length, with the progressive WITHOUT QUESTION (The United States) two lengths back in third.

Clearly among the best of his generation, See It Again has now won four of nine starts for earnings of R2 065 625 -and he won’t stop here!

Bred by Drakenstein Stud, See It Again is owned by Nick Jonsson -also a part-owner of DO IT AGAIN.

Dual G1 Emirates Airline Champion Stakes winner TWICE OVER has had a wonderful season in 2022-2023, with his flagbearers including not only the brilliant SEE IT AGAIN (one of four runners in this year’s Cape Derby sired by Twice Over), but also speedy stakes winners TAIKONAUT and TEAM GOLD to name a few.

Twice Over, whose progeny have won G1 races from 1200m to 2200m, has a single lot on offer at the 2023 KZN Yearling Sale.
