Klawervlei Stud’s well bred sire ROYAL MO (Uncle Mo) got another boost to his pedigree page when his regally bred half-brother GUN BULLET got off the mark at just the second time of asking on Thursday. A three-year-old son of sire sensation GUN RUNNER (Candy Ride), the John Sadler trained colt strolled home in Thursday’s Maiden Special Weight to score a shade cosily by a length and a quarter. A colt with a classic pedigree, Gun Bullet looks to have the scope to progress from Friday’s victory.
Gun Bullet is one of five winners produced by the well-bred mare ROYAL IRISH LASS (Saint Ballado), with the latter also responsible for high-class stakes winner TARA FROM THE CAPE (Leroidesanimaux) as well as G3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes winner ROYAL MO.
The only son of outstanding sire Uncle Mo (Indian Charlie) at stud in South Africa, Royal Mo made an impact with his small first crop produced R5 million plus earner ROYAL AUSSIE.
Royal Mo shares his Breeders’ Cup winning sire with another successful stallion in the form of NYQUIST. The latter has enjoyed global success in 2023, with Nyquist responsible for this year’s G2 Queen Mary Stakes winner CRIMSON ADVOCATE as well as impressive recent G2 Amsterdam Stakes winner NEW YORK THUNDER.
