Klawervlei Stud’s exciting new stallion KOMMETDIEDING (Elusive Fort) hails from a wonderful family, and Kommetdieding got yet another boost when his promising relative LUCE VERDE (Gimmethegreenlight) won in eye-catching style at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Saturday.

Runner up on debut, the Brett Crawford trained Luce Verde duly went one better on Saturday when he dug down deep to break his maiden convincingly at Durbanville. Under Louis Mxothwa, the progressive colt kicked on in the closing stages to win by three-parts of a length and he looks sure to provide the Sherrells with plenty of fun in the coming months.

Bred by Boland Stud, Luce Verde is out of MONPAZIER (Silvano) -whose granddam RIDING LIGHT (Top Ville) ranks as the third dam of Kommetdieding himself.

This is an outstanding family, with Riding Light herself tracing back directly in female line to none other than PARADOXICAL (Timothy), the ancestess of  LA TROIENNE, arguably the most influential broodmare in history.

Kommetdieding, who stands his first season at stud this year, was one of the best and most charismatic South African gallopers of recent years. Not only did the handsome entire win the G1 Vodacom Durban July in 2021, he went on to claim the G1 WSB Cape Town Met in 2022.

Among the numerous champions beaten by KOMMETDIEDING were DO IT AGAIN (Twice Over), GOT THE GREENLIGHT (Gimmethegreenlight) JET DARK (Trippi), and RAINBOW BRIDGE (Ideal World).
