Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) was the toast of KwaZulu-Natal on Friday night, when his star son SEE IT AGAIN was honoured at the 2023 KZN Racing Awards Dinner.

The brilliant chestnut was named KZN’s Champion Three-Year-Old Male and Champion Middle Distance Performer following an exceptional three-year-old campaign last season.

Bred by Drakenstein Stud, the Nick Jonsson owned See It Again has won or placed in nine of his 11 starts and won both the G1 Splashout Cape Derby and G1 Daily News 2000 last season. The colt, who has earned over R3.255 million, was also runner up in both the G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July and G1 The HKJC Champions Cup in 2023.

His sire Twice Over, whose progeny also include fellow G1 winners DO IT AGAIN, DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE and SAND AND SEA, has made a flying start to the new season. The dual G1 Emirates Airline Champion Stakes winner is currently fourth on the General Sires List for the current season and ranks above the likes of SILVANO (Lomitas), VERCINGETORIX (Silvano) and GIMMETHEGREENLIGHT (More Than Ready).

Twice Over ended the 2022-2023 season eighth on the General Sires List, with his progeny earning more than R10.833 million last season.
