Klawervlei Stud’s consistently successful sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) continues to churn out winners all over South Africa, and the four time G1 winner was at it again when Twice Over came up with two more winners at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.

Twice Over colt WEATHER KING made it back to back wins when he won Saturday’s Taking The Reins Class 4 over 2000 metres. Under Gareth Wright, the Candice Bass-Robinson trained three-year-old stormed home from off the pace to score impressively by two and a quarter lengths.

The progressive looking Weather King, who races for the ASSM Racing Syndicate in partnership with Greenacres Trust and Bryn Ressell, was bred by the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud.

Twice Over struck again in the very next race when his three-year-old daughter TWO A PENNY won the ninth and last race on the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth card. Trained by Adam Marcus, Two A Penny raced just off the pace early on in Saturday’s Hollywoodbets Bright Future Maiden Plate (1800m) before powering down the inside of the track to get up and break her maiden by nearly half a length.

Owned by Messrs M, S & T Govender, the Alec Foster bred Two A Penny has been the soul of consistency, with the filly having finished in the first four placings in each of her last five starts.

A proven source of G1 winners, Twice Over looks set for a potentially exciting day at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth this Saturday. His outstanding son SEE IT AGAIN looks a big runner for the 2024 G1 L’Ormarins King’s Plate, while Twice Over sons TRIPLE TIME and SENSO UNICO both runners in Saturday’s G3 Glorious Goodwood Chairman’s Cup.

Also sire of dual G1 Vodacom Durban July winner DO IT AGAIN, Twice Over has a single lot on offer at February’s Cape Yearling Sale.
