Klawervlei Stud enjoyed success in Hong Kong on Saturday when the Klawervlei bred SUPER COMMANDER (Vercingetorix) won at Sha Tin.

Under Karis Teetan, the Pierre Ng trained gelding turned in a game performance when making all to win Saturday’s Lau Fau Shan Handicap by a length.

Owned by Sidney Leung Kwun Wa, Super Commander has now won five times in Hong Kong.

The gelding raced as Fearless Warrior in South Africa where he won twice from four starts and ran second in the 2019 G3 Cape Of Good Hope Nursery. Super Commander is out of WAR PATH (Captain Al), who also produced Listed Gardenia Stakes winner BELLA CHICA (Rafeef).

Klawervlei Stud, who also bred Super Commander’s outstanding sire Vercingetorix, are enjoying another great season in 2023-2024, and are currently third on South Africa’s Leading Breeders log for the current season.

The farm will be offering an outstanding draft at the upcoming Cape Racing Premier Yearling Sale Powered By Tattersalls, with Klawervlei’s draft including a Gimmethegreenlight colt out of champion Return Flight (Lot 65), a Gimmethegreenlight filly out of a dual G3 winning half-sister to Vercingetorix (Lot 96), and a Gimmethegreenlight half-sister to champion Vardy (Lot 136) and full-sister to G3 winner Universal among others.
