Klawervlei Stud’s red hot sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) continues to churn out winners and stakes winners around South Africa, and the four time G1 winner was at it again when two of Twice Over’s daughters scored over the weekend.

Twice Over’s five-year-old daughter OFFICIAL SECRET made it back to back wins, and picked up her sixth win of her career, when running out a good winner at Fairview on Friday. The Alan Greeff trained mare, who was partnered to victory by Richard Fourie, kicked on at the right time and stayed on gamely to land Friday’s Pinnacle Stakes (2000m) by a neck.

One of four winners on the day for Greeff and Fourie, the Drakenstein Stud bred Official Secret is owned by Mr Moor.

Official Secret is very closely related to the Twice Over sired G1 winner SAND AND SEA and she will, no doubt, be an attractive prospect when she retires to stud.

Twice Over is also the sire of CUTBACK, who raced away to a convincing win at Borrowdale Park on Sunday. Trained by Thomas Mason, the Laurence Wernars bred Cutback was ridden to victory by Kaidan Brewer.

The consistent Cutback, who had finished second in each of her three starts prior to Sunday’s win, has now won four times in total.

Twice Over went close to having a treble over the weekend, with his useful son CHAMPION WARRIOR catching the eye when finishing second at Turffontein on Saturday.

Former European Champion Twice Over is having a sensational season in 2023-2024 thus far, with his stakes winners headed by the now retired G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met winner DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE as well as the graded stakes winners MUCHO DINERO and SEE IT AGAIN.

At the time of writing, Twice Over was sixth on the South African General Sires List for 2023-2024 with his runners having already earned more than R6.746 million in prize money thus far.
