Klawervlei Stud’s bang inform stallion TWICE OVER (Observatory) looks to have a progressive daughter to his name in the form of TWO A PENNY.

The latter made it three wins a row when winning a good race at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Tuesday afternoon, with Two A Penny having either won or been placed in eight of nine starts.

Under SplashOut Cape Derby winning jockey Craig Zackey, the Adam Marcus trained three-year-old kept finding nicely in the closing stages of Tuesday’s RaceCape Powered By Hollywoodbets Class 4 (1800m) and won convincingly by a length and a quarter.

Bred by Alec Foster (also breeder of the Twice Over sired Listed Hollywoodbets Settlers Trophy winner SENSO UNICO), Two A Penny races for Messrs M A Govender, S S Govender and T Govender.

Four time G1 winner Twice Over is having a fine season in 2023-2024 and, at the time of writing, had been responsible for more South African stakes winners this season than the likes of VERCINGETORIX (Silvano), TRIPPI (End Sweep), and SILVANO (Lomitas) among others.

His flagbearers this season thus far include G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met winner DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE, and fellow graded stakes winners MUCHO DINERO (G2 Anthonij Rupert Wine Premier Trophy) and SEE IT AGAIN (G2 World Sports Betting Green Point Stakes). Twice Over sired runners have already earned more than R6.9 million in stakes this season.
