Klawervlei Stud’s triple G1 winning stallion CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) enjoyed some good results at the recent National Yearling Sale.

The former champion sprinter had yearlings make up to R550 000 at the National Sale this year, with two colts by Captain Of All making R400 000 apiece.

Captain Of All’s top lot sold, a filly (Lot 373) out of SYLVIE (Dupont), was consigned to the sale by Black Swan Stud (As Agent), and she was sold to Kestorm Investments.

Bred to be extremely speedy, the pricey filly is a half-sister to five winners including the stakes winning fillies SARAH (What A Winter) and ALMOND SEA (Canford Cliffs).

Captain Of All also had success over the weekend, when the multiple G1 winner supplied winners in both the Eastern and Western Cape.

On Friday, Captain Of All filly LISTENTOTHEOCEAN romped home, under Craig Zackey, to break her maiden impressively at Fairview.

Trained by Gavin Smith, the three-year-old was always up with the pace in Friday’s Play Soccer 6,10, and 13 Maiden Plate (F and M) (1200m) before drawing clear to win by two and a half lengths.

Bred by the Cape Leopard Trust, Listentotheocean races for Messrs A D C A Fernandes, J G Gomes and SMB Insurance Brokers CC.

Captain Of All struck again the very next day when his son ALL ABOUT RONNIE won the RaceCape Powered By Hollywoodbets Class 4 (1600m) in game fashion.

Under a spectacular ride from Richard Fourie, the Des McLachlan trained gelding flew up late to get up and score by a short-head.

Bred by Klipdrif Stud, All About Ronnie has now won three times with the four-year-old having won two of his last three starts. All About Ronnie races for Denis Le Breton.

One of the very best sons of his legendary sire, Captain Of All has six lots on offer at the Cape Racing Winter Yearling Sale.
