Klawervlei Stud enjoyed some fantastic results at Thursday’s KZN Yearling Sale, which took place at the Suncoast Casino in Durban. Not only did Klawervlei, As Agent, consign the top lot sold at Thursday’s auction, but the Bonnievale farm also ended up as the day’s Leading Vendors by Aggregate.

The Klawervlei consigned LOVECOMESKNOCKING (Lot 72), a daughter of GIMMETHEGREENLIGHT (More Than Ready) and Listed East Cape Oaks winner EROS’S GIRL (Captain Al) was knocked down to Mary Liley for R1 900 000 to top the 2024 KZN Yearling Sale.

The blue blooded filly, a three-parts sister to G3 winner UNIVERSAL (Gimmethegreenlight), is a full-sister to promising filly LOVEGRASS (Gimmethegreenlight) and she is bred on the same Gimmethegreenlight/Captain Al cross as retired champion SANDRINGHAM SUMMIT and fellow G1 winners GUNNER and PROCEED.

Klawervlei Stud, as Agent, sold all ten yearlings they consigned in Durban, with the farm’s yearlings fetching a total of R5 850 000 and averaging an impressive R585 000.

Klawervlei are also breeders of Equus Champion, and sire sensation, ONE WORLD (Captain Al). The latter was Leading Sire by Aggregate at the KZN Yearling Sale this year, with One World yearlings grossing R4 115 000 at Thursday’s sale.

One World’s top lot sold was the Klawervlei consigned colt (Lot 162) out of QUITE FRANKLY (Frankel) who was sold to JASM Solutions for R700 000.
