Klawervlei Stud’s exciting young stallion KOMMETDIEDING (Elusive Fort) gained a handsome update to his pedigree when his full-sister KOMMETJIE STORM ran out an impressive winner at Turffontein on Saturday.
A close up third on debut, the Tony Peter trained Kommetjie Storm made no mistakes at the second time of asking when romping home in the first race on Saturday.
Under Gavin Lerena (who enjoyed so much success with Kommetdieding), the filly showed her class as she strolled home to a five and a half length win in the 4Racing Welcomes You Maiden Plate (F&M).
Bred by Oldlands Stud, the blue blooded Kommetjie Storm races for Kestorm Investments.
The filly was the top lot sold off the 2023 National Yearling Sale, where Kommetjie Storm was knocked down for R3 200 000.
Her full-brother Kommetdieding was an outstanding racehorse, who won or placed in 16 of 18 starts for earnings of R 4,255,100.
The charismatic star won both the 2021 G1 Vodacom Durban July and 2022G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met, with Kommetdieding accounting for such champions as JET DARK (Trippi), DO IT AGAIN (Twice Over), GOT THE GREENLIGHT (Gimmethegreenlight) and RAINBOW BRIDGE (Ideal World).
Kommetdieding and Kommetjie Storm hail from the same female line as the classy QUASIFORSURE (Quasillo), a runner in Saturday’s G2 Allied Steelrode Onamission Charity Mile.
