Klawervlei’s promising young sire, and former G1 Cape Guineas winner, WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al) came up with an eye-catching debut winner on Saturday, when his daughter POLAR WORLD won impressively at Kenilworth.

Trained by Adam Marcus, Polar World stormed home, under a strong ride from Craig Zackey, to claim the first race at Kenilworth on Saturday in fine style. The William Longsword filly hit the front close to home and drew off to score on debut by a decisive two lengths.

Bred by Miss Giddy (who owns the filly in partnership with Mr Jagers), Polar World is one of several promising sorts to have aleady emerged from William Longsword’s first crop.

This crop also includes G2 Epol Umkhomazi Stakes hero DYCE, G2 Prosport International Debutante runner up REMEMBER WHEN, Listed Model Man Mile victor HASTA MANANA and Listed #womeninracing Sophomore Sprint second SAFE RETURN as well as the likes of BON VIVANT and VOLDIMORT, to mention but a few!

Understandably, progeny of William Longsword have proven popular in the sales ring this year, with a colt by William Longsword making R550 000 at the 2021 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
