Klawervlei Stud’s G1 Vodacom Durban July winning stallion POMODORO (Jet Master) had a week to remember last week.
Pomodoro had four individual winners last week, when his progeny scored at all of Turffontein, the Vaal and Fairview. His good form continued into this week, with Pomodoro supplying an eye catching winner at Turffontein on Monday afternoon.
His three-year-old son VITELLIUS built on a runner up finish on debut when he stormed home to shed his maiden at just the second time of asking.
Trained by Weichong Marwing, Vitellius stormed home, under Randall Simons, to land Monday’s www.tab4racing.com Maiden Plate (1400m) by a convincing length and a half, and he looks to have the scope to build on this effort. Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Vitellius races for Dr S J Coetzee, Mr Charles Castle & Mrs Chloe Roberts.
South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2017-2018, Pomodoro is set to be represented by his son SCALINI in Saturday’s G3 Politician Stakes.
