Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) is in the middle of another fine season, and the former champion struck again when Twice Over gelding BREEZE OVER ran out an impressive winner of the Racehorse Owners Association Stayers (3200m) at Turffontein on Saturday.
Trained by Michael and Adam Azzie, four-year-old Breeze Over was given a positive ride by Summer Cup winning rider Muzi Yeni in Saturday’s R250 000 contest. Yeni quickly sent his mount to the front, with his rivals failing to peg Breeze Over back at any stage in the race.
The pair galloped off to land the Racehorse Owners Association Stayers by an emphatic three and three quarter lengths.
The gelding races for Messrs Leahy and Higgs.
His sire Twice Over, whose progeny also include such G1 winners as DO IT AGAIN, SEE IT AGAIN, DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE and SAND AND SEA, is also responsible for this season’s stakes winners SENSO UNICO (Hollywoodbets Settlers Trophy) and MUCHO DINERO (Woolavington Stakes).
