Classy galloper QUASIFORSURE (Quasillo), who hails from the same family as Klawervlei Stud’s popular young stallion KOMMETDIEDING (Elusive Fort), looks destined for bigger and better things after he won impressively at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday.
The Peter Muscutt trained five-year-old showed a devastating turn of foot when he flew up, under Craig Zackey, down the outside of the track to win Monday’s Mbet Pinnacle Stakes (1200m) going away by a long neck.
In the process, Quasiforsure accounted for such well performed horses as GLADATORIAN (Vercingetorix), PRAY FOR RAIN (Soft Falling Rain), ULTRA MAGNUS (Oratorio), and Equus Champions CANADIAN SUMMER (Oratorio) and GOOD TRAVELLER (Visionaire).
Bred by Boland Stud, Quasiforsure, who had finished second to subsequent G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July winner WINCHESTER MANSION (Trippi) in last season’s G3 Hollywoodbets Dolphins Cup Trial, races for Mr G F Mamet, Estate Late Mr R Maingard, SMB Insurance Brokers CC (Nom: Mr M A Brackett) & Mrs Roslyn Coetzee.
Described as “special” by his jockey after Monday’s win, Quasiforsure has now won six of just 12 starts and he is now likely to travel down to Cape Town for a tilt at some of the feature races later in the season.
From one of the best families in the studbook, Quasiforsure’s third dam RIDING LIGHT (Top Ville) also ranks as the third dam of the brilliant KOMMETDIEDING.
The latter, who is proving very fertile in his first season at stud, earned more than R4.255 million in stakes with Kommetdieding’s wins including both the 2021 G1 Vodacom Durban July and 2022 G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met.
