Klawervlei Stud’s inform sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) has been enjoying a good run of form of late, and when his son BLAZE OF SILK won at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday, he became Twice Over’s fifth winner in as many days.

Bred by Klawervlei Stud, the Corinne Bestel trained Blaze Of Silk was always up with the pace in Wednesday’s 1000m contest and he stayed on gamely under Sherman Brown to record a 1.1 length triumph.

Owned by Mesdames Bestel & Buchanan, in partnership with Mr Buhr, Miss Roussos and Mr & Mrs Da C Quintas, the inform Blaze Of Silk made it win number five with Wednesday’s victory.

His four time G1 winning sire Twice Over has been in excellent form this week, with the former European Champion’s four previous winners this week headed by impressive CTS 1200 winner INVIDIA (who has now earned more than R3 000 000 in prize money), and Tuesday’s facile winner TWICE THE SURGE. The latter, making just his third career start, romped home to shed his maiden by two and a quarter lengths at the Vaal on Tuesday, when scoring for trainer Fabian Habib and owners Messrs Habib, Barker, Kahan, G J Nassif, J Nassif, Raper, Van Wyk & the Tri-Deal Sixteen CC respectively.
