FRIDAY DOUBLE FOR TWICE OVER

Klawervlei Stud's multiple G1 winning stallion TWICE OVER (Observatory) enjoyed a notable double on the first day of the L'Ormarins Queen's Plate festival, with his daughters DUPLICITY and BALLROOM BLISS won races three and four respectively. The Drakenstein Stud bred and owned Duplicity got off the mark when that Candice Bass-Robinson trained three-year-old romped home to a facile win over 1600m on Friday. Under jockey Aldo Domeyer, Duplicity ran on strongly to score by a length and three quarters, with another daughter of Twice Over, STARBOARD, finishing second. The well-bred Duplicity was winning at the fourth time of asking, with the filly having been second in her two previous starts. Twice Over's second success at Kenilworth on Friday came when his Candice Bass-Robinson trained daughter Ballroom Bliss scored a thrilling win in a pinnacle stakes for fillies and mares over 1400m. Under Keagan De Melo, the three-year-old filly ran on strongly to score by a long neck for owners Messrs M F Bass, C A F Goncalves, M Gwalangwa, T F Smith, N D van Vuuren, P Volo & W G Weiss, Mr K J Power & Mrs E R Robertson & Mrs C L Bass-Robinson. Bred by the Waterford Stud, Ballroom Bliss had previously contested several feature races this season including both the G1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas and G2 Western Cape Fillies Championship. Twice Over had also enjoyed success at Turffontein the day before when his classy daughter BALLET SHOES scored over 1800m for Candice Dawson, who was celebrating her birthday. Bred by Klawervlei, and a former graduate of the Klawervlei Farm Sale, four-year-old Ballet Shoes races for Ralphs Racing.#klawervlei #breedingtheperfectthoroughbred
