The Klawervlei Farm Sale has quickly become one of the most popular thoroughbred auctions on the South African thoroughbred calendar.

A sale with a tremendous atmosphere, the farm sale has consistently produced high-class racehorses. It remains one of the country's best value for money yearling sale.

The 2020 Klawervlei Farm Sale f will now be held ONLINE in partnership with GAVELHOUSE.COM from the 15th to 21st June.

One of the best advertisement’s for the quality of thoroughbred offered at the Klawervlei Farm Sale is Equus Champion, and increasingly successful sire, CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al). A R100 000, bargain buy from the 2012 Farm Sale, the Riverton Stud bred star was named South Africa's Champion Sprinter of 2014-2015, and won all of the G1 Tsogo Sun Gold Medallion, G1 Tsogo Sun Sprint and G1 Mercury Sprint.

Retired to Klawervlei in 2015, Captain Of All was an immediate success at stud and was South Africa's Leading First Crop Sire of 2018-2019. His growing number of stakes winners include this season's G2 TAB/Betting World Dingaans winner SHANGO, while Captain Of All's talented son GOLDEN TRACTOR was himself a R150 000 buy from the 2018 Farm Sale.

That brilliant bay, however, is not the only Equus Champion sold off a Klawervlei Farm Sale, with EDICT OF NANTES (Count Dubois) a R360 000 purchase from the 2015 Farm Sale. Subsequently exported to Hong Kong for a handsome price exceeding R 10 million , the Klawervlei Stud bred colt was named Equus Champion 3YO Colt/Gelding of 2016-2017. He won six of 15 outings in South Africa, while banking over R2.726 million in stakes, including both the 2017 G1 Investec Cape Derby and 2017 G1 Daily News 2000.

Other notable graduates of this sale include such graded stakes winners as BARRACK STREET (G3 Protea Stakes) and SOCIAL ORDER (G3 Kings Cup), talented filly FOREST EXPRESS (Spook Express Handicap), Sophomore Sprint winner DOOR OF DECEPTION, G1 performer ROCK THE GLOBE, and promising three-year-olds BALLET SHOES, CAPITIANA, GOLDEN BELLE and GOLDEN TRACTOR.
