Klawervlei Stud has an exceptional draft on offer at this month’s CTS Ready To Run Sale, which is set to take place at Durbanville racecourse on November 22nd.

The draft includes two-year-olds by such stallions as CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al), COUP DE GRACE (Tapit), TWICE OVER (Observatory), VERCINGETORIX (Silvano), WHAT A WINTER (Western Winter), and by the Coolmore Stud based G1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes winner ZOFFANY (Dansili).

The latter, a consistent source of high class group winners, has had another excellent year in 2019, with Zoffany’s eight stakes winners this year headed by G1 Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac winner ALBIGNA, and German classic winner MAIN EDITION.

Zoffany is represented in Klawervlei’s Ready To Run draft by a colt (Lot 104) whose GALILEO sired dam is a full-sister to G3 Glorious Stakes/G3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes winner QUEST FOR PEACE, and this colt’s granddam is a winning daughter of outstanding broodmare sire DANEHILL DANCER (Danehill).

Klawervlei’s exciting young sire COUP DE GRACE will be represented by four lots in Klawervlei’s draft –including a half-brother (Lot 136) to Equus Champion LINK MAN, and a half-brother (Lot 146) to dual G1 winner, and Equus Champion, SEVENTH PLAIN.

His stable mate CAPTAIN OF ALL, South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire of 2018-2019, is represented by a beautifully bred colt (Lot 86), and half-brother to Oaks Trial winner CHARIOT OF GOLD. This colt is out of the stakes winning QUEST FOR GOLD, a Jallad half-sister to Klawervlei’s very promising sire, and former G1 Vodacom Durban July winner, POMODORO.

The Klawervlei Stud bred VERCINGETORIX is one of the hottest sires in South Africa, and that former Equus Champion is responsible for two lots. His son BILLY KIMBER (Lot 43) is a half-brother to a winner and he hails from the same female line as champion KING’S CHAPEL and the very influential sire MUMMY’S PET, while Vercingetorix is also the sire of a colt (Lot 98) whose Winter Oaks winning dam is a half-sister to the stakes winning dam of exported G1 SA Classic winner LOBO’S LEGEND.

European champion and four time G1 winner TWICE OVER, whose progeny include dual July winner DO IT AGAIN, is represented by a filly (Lot 148) out of a dual winning JET MASTER daughter of G1 winner SAINTLY LADY, while hugely popular triple Equus Champion WHAT A WINTER is the sire of a full-sister (Lot 109) to a recent winner, and this filly’s dam is a half-sister to 3 black type performers including G2 Post Merchants winner SPLASH GOLD.

Globetrotting Equus Champion JAY PEG (Camden Park) has a colt (Lot 24) on offer whose dam is a half-sister to G1 winning two-year-old GEEPEE S, while promising REDOUTE’S CHOICE sire WYLIE HALL is the sire of a colt (Lot 87) whose dam is a winning FORT WOOD half-sister to G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes runner up KILCOY CASTLE.

Proven G1 sire ELUSIVE FORT has a colt (Lot 170) (bred on the same cross as stakes winners ERNIE and FREEDOM CHARTER) whose dam is a winning own sister to G3 winning sire CAPTAIN CORAGEOUS (Captain Al), while Singapore Sling’s sire PHILANTHROPIST is the sire of a colt (Lot 93) who is not only inbred to legendary broodmare GREY FLIGHT, but whose dam ROSETTE is a five time winning half-sister to Darley Arabian winner and G1 Summer Cup third RUDI ROCKS.

With two-year-olds on offer from a variety of sire lines, and from some outstanding female lines, there is truly something for everyone in Klawervlei’s draft this year!
