Klawervlei Stud’s exciting stallion POMODORO (Jet Master) proved the star attraction at the 2019 Cape Yearling Sale, which took place at the lavish Mistico Equestrian Centre on Sunday.

Pomodoro was the Leading Sire by Aggregate at the Cape Sale, with the July winner’s 12 lots to sell (from 13 on sale) grossed a total of R1 210 000.

The Klawervlei inmate’s yearlings averaged well above the average at the sale, with Pomodoro’s top lot being a colt out of CRISSY SANCHEZ who was sold to Rainbow Beach Trading for R200 000.

South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire of 2017-2018 by stakes, Pomodoro is enjoying another fine season with his offspring on the racecourse in 2018-2019, with his current star performers headed by G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic winner RETURN FLIGHT, R4 000 000 plus earner CIRILLO, Aeolus OTR Kenilworth Cup runner up CEDAR MAN and recent debut winner CULTURE TRIP.

A multiple G1 winning son of seven times champion sire Jet Master and Broodmare Of The Year GOLDEN APPLE, Pomodoro will once again be well represented at the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, where his lots include a colt (Lot 75) from the immediate family of Cartier Champion and Horse Of The Year MINDING, a colt (Lot 83) out of the Trippi sired G1 Golden Horseshoe winner FOR THE LADS, and a filly (Lot 123) whose dam is a winning own sister to G1 winner and G1 Dubai World Cup runner up LIZARD’S DESIRE.
