Gainesway Farm’s multiple champion sire TAPIT, whose high-class son COUP DE GRACE stands at Klawervlei Stud, continued to make waves as a sire of sires, over the weekend.

His son FLASHBACK, who, like Klawervlei sire ROYAL MO, won the Robert. B Lewis Stakes during his career, made headlines at Santa Anita on Friday when his brilliant daughter BRITISH IDIOM won G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies the in thrilling fashion.

Now unbeaten in three starts, and victorious previously in the G1 Darley Alciabiades Stakes, British Idiom now looks likely to be crowned USA”s Champion Two-Year-Old Filly for 2019. Intriguingly, British Idiom is bred on similar lines to Coup De Grace, with the filly sired by a son of Tapit out of a mare by a son of Storm Cat, and Coup De Grace sired by Tapit out of a Storm Cat mare.

Tapit, also broodmare sire of Friday’s G1 TVG Breeders’ Cup Juvenile runner up ANNEAU D’OR (Medaglia D’Oro), is also the sire of red hot stallion CONSTITUTION, winner of both the G1 Florida Derby and G1 Donn Handicap during his racing days.

Constitution came up with a fourth first-crop graded stakes winner when his unbeaten son INDEPENDENCE HALL (whose granddam was sired by Storm Cat) romped to a 12.25 length win in the G3 Nashua Stakes at Aqueduct on Sunday to stamp himself as a hugely exciting future prospect.

The brilliant colt joins unbeaten G1 Champagne Stakes winner TIZ THE LAW and AMALFI SUNRISE and BY YOUR SIDE as first crop graded stakes winners for Constiution thus far.
