The Klawervlei Stud based champion TWICE OVER (Observatory) had a good day at the Vaal on Thursday when two of his offspring captured two of the first three races on the card.

Twice Over's first success on Thursday came when the Lucky Houdalakis trained TWICE THE ACT stayed on nicely to break her maiden over 1400 metres.

Bred by the Gary Player Stud, the three-year-old, third two starts earlier, got up to account for the regally bred favourite LAGERTHA (Frankel) by a neck.

The lightly raced Twice The Act races for owners Messrs P Boonzaaier & Lucky Houdalakis & Stone Hill Stud (Nom: Mr H C W Rix).

Twice Over's second success on Thursday came just two races later when his Nadeson Park Stud bred son MIDNIGHT CALLER ran out a convincing winner of the third race when getting off the mark at the third time of asking.

Trained by Weiho Marwing, for owners Mr and Mrs Potgieter, Midnight Caller stayed on to score by a length and a quarter, with CAPTAIN OF ALL colt SPARTAN WARRIOR making a pleasing debut back in second spot.

A four time G1 winner and European champion in 2010, Twice Over has more than made his mark at stud with his progeny headed by dual Vodacom Durban July winner DO IT AGAIN, G1 winning two-year-old SAND AND SEA, Oaks winner MOON IN JUNE, and R3 000 000 plus earner INVIDIA.

The champion has 14 lots on offer at the upcoming Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale, and a further ten lots on the CTS Ready To Run, Unbroken 2 Year Old & Mixed Sale.
