Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) has enjoyed a wonderful season in 2021-2022 and the former European champion enjoyed yet more feature race success this season when his three-year-old daughter YOUNG LOVE captured the Listed World Sports Betting River Jetez Stakes (2400m) run at Kenilworth on Saturday.

Twice Over dominated the River Jetez Stakes, with daughters Young Love and Double Check finishing first and third respectively.

Trained by Andre Nel, the Sabine Plattner bred and owned Young Love was given a fine ride by Grant Van Niekerk.

Van Niekerk pulled his mount towards the outside of the track, and Young Love flew up late to touch off the talented MARIA QUEROL (Querari) and win by half a length.

The first two home pulled well clear of the third filly home, with Young Love finishing six and three-quarter lengths clear of third place finisher DOUBLE CHECK (Twice Over).

It was a superb win from Young Love, who was making her first start since she won the Listed WSB Sweet Chestnut Stakes, over 1600m, back in April. The form of the Sweet Chestnut Stakes gained a further boost when runner up GOING UP (Gimmethegreenlight) came out to win Saturday’s Listed WSB Bet With The Best Olympic Duel Stakes.

Out of the Casey Tibbs mare Rosie Tibb, Young Love is bred on the same Twice Over/Casey Tibbs as dual July winner, and former Horse Of The Year DO IT AGAIN. The latter is bidding to win the July for a third time when he lines up in Saturday’s G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July.
