Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) had an afternoon to remember on Saturday when his sons SENSO UNICO and TRIPLE TIME finished first and second respectively in the Listed Hollywoodbets Settlers Trophy run at Hollywoodbets Durbanville.

Trained by Vaughan Marshall, Senso Unico claimed his biggest career win when landing the 2023 Settlers Trophy. The classy five-year-old was given a perfectly timed ride by Louis Mxothwa, who bought Senso Unico with a strong late run and the pair kept finding more in the closing stages to hold off Senso Unico’s paternal half-brother Triple Time and win by a head. Bred by Alec Foster, Senso Unico races for Alec and the Honourable Gillian Foster.

Runner up in the 2023 G3 Merchant’s On Long Chairman’s Cup, Senso Unico is the 16th stakes winner for TWICE OVER. The latter enjoyed a fine season in 2022-2023, where Twice Over’s flagbearers included G1 Splashout Cape Derby/G1 Daily News 2000 hero SEE IT AGAIN.

Twice Over has a single lot on offer at the upcoming Cape Racing Ready To Run And Unbroken Two Year Old Sale.
