Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) was the toast of Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday afternoon when his exciting son SEE IT AGAIN won the G1 Splashout Cape Derby (2000m) in scintillating fashion.

Under a resurgent Piere Strydom, the handsome chestnut powered home in the straight and got up close home to deny favourite, and G1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas winner CHARLES DICKENS (Trippi) victory by a length and a quarter. See It Again was one of no fewer than four runners in the R1 500 000 Cape Derby for Twice Over, whose sons GRINKOV, TRIPLE TIME and MUCHO DINERO also contested the classic.

A three-parts brother to former Horse Of The Year, and dual G1 Vodacom Durban July winner DO IT AGAIN (Twice Over), See It Again provided legendary jockey Michael Roberts with his first G1 win as a trainer. Bred by Drakenstein Stud, See It Again has now won three of just seven starts, with the colt having also triumphed in the Listed Model Man Mile this season.

Owned by Nick Jonsson, See It Again is the fourth G1 winner for Twice Over following DO IT AGAIN, SAND AND SEA and DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE.

See It Again also provided his sire with a Cape classic double of sorts, with Twice Over responsible for the 2021 G1 Cape Guineas winner DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE.

The colt also highlighted the versatility of his sire with his Derby win, with Twice Over also responsible for this season’s stakes-winning sprinters RESONATE and TAIKONAUT.
