Klawervlei Stud’s very much inform stallion TWICE OVER (Observatory) has had an excellent season, both in the sales ring and on the racetrack, this year and Klawervlei’s four-time G1 winning resident had another good day on Sunday when Twice Over was responsible for a pair of winners at Hollywoodbets Scottsville.

Twice Over’s first success on Sunday came when his Corinne Bestel son BLAZE OF SILK romped away to land the fourth race in fine style. Under Donovan Dillon, the seven-year-old chestnut drew clear in the closing stages to land the WSB leaders in Ante post MR 83 Handicap (1000m) by nearly two and a half lengths. Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Blaze Of Silk races for his trainer in partnership with Mesdame G M M Buchanan, Mr E W Buhr, Miss T Roussos & Mr & Mrs A M Da C Quintas. The veteran son of Twice Over, who displays all his sire’s famed durability and heart, has now won or placed in no fewer than 18 races.

Twice Over’s second winner on Sunday came when his daughter TWICEASFAST won the ninth and final race at Scottsville. Under Donald Geerthsen, the Shane Humby trained mare made all to score, over 1400m, by just over half a length for owner Gavin Almanza. Bred by the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud, Twiceasfast was winning for a third time when scoring on Sunday.

Twice Over, who has two runners in Saturday’s G1 Jonsson Workwear Cape Derby, recently made headlines when supplying the R2 000 000 sales topper at the Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

The sire of this season’s G1 Cape Guineas winner DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE, Twice Over has five lots on offer at this weekend’s Cape Yearling Sale.
