Klawervlei Stud’s triple G1 winning sire CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) has been enjoying a steady stream of winners of late, and the former champion sprinter was at it again when Captain Of All supplied two more winners at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday.
Himself a G1 winner at two, Captain Of All looks to have come up with a smart two-year-old this season in the form of CAPTAIN CASEY. The latter, fourth in the Listed Cell C Sharks Gatecrasher Stakes last time out, justified favouritism on Wednesday when running out a comfortable winner of the www.galloptv.co.za Maiden Juvenile Plate (1200m). Under Sean Veale, the Tony Rivalland trained colt powered away to score a comfortable one length win, while breaking his maiden at just the third time of asking. Bred by the Clifton Stud, Captain Casey races for Mary Liley in partnership with the Stravino family.
His sire Captain Of All is also the sire of the talented LUNARCAM, who caught the eye when landing the Gold Circle Racing Youtube Channel MR 90 Handicap (1000m) on Wednesday. Under Tristan Godden, the lightly raced three-year-old was always up with the pace, before Lunarcam powered away to score by nearly a length and a quarter. Trained by Dennis Drier, who trained Captain Of All himself, Lunarcam has now won three of just seven starts.
Bred by Ridgemont Highlands, the gelding races for Dr M W Rohwer, Messrs B D Airey, J Te Riele, E Cantatore, W Fyvie & G Teichman,
South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2018-2019, Captain Of All is also sire of dual G1 winner LINEBACKER, who rates a leading hope for the upcoming G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July.
